Our workshops tend to be a base into further opportunities.
Many who have attended these workshops have become a part of the Initiative.dkf family - going on to take part in Afri'fusion Intensive, gain internships or take part in Intensive Crew and even gained industry jobs.
WHY
With our Artistic Director being one of the first to put on a Afrobeats Theatre (African Jambalaya) in London, which featured Nollywood legend Desmond Elliot, Mister Silva, Afrikan Boy and more. Our community and Culture, as British born Nigerians is something we care deeply about. Stemming from our own desire to stay connect to our heritage it only made sense to provide spaces that connect areas which we love. Alongside this we've had an ever growing demand for more dance training - as we're still very much independent, pop ups allow us to give back in what little way that we can.
TEACHERS
Previous Pop Ups have been led/co led by some of the pioneers of Afrobeats dance and culture in UK.
Including:
Ezinne Asinugo (Zinearts Agency, CEO Dancers, Britain's Got Talent, Rihanna, Lil Kim, Stefflon Don, Dbanji) and
Patience James (GOP Dancers, X Factor, BBC, David Guetta and more!)
