MELANIN BOX FESTIVAL

An opportunity to tell our varied stories from our own mouths
Highlight depictions of Black people beyond preconceptions
Celebrate Black British talent IN Britain - not once they’ve blown overseas (Shade but no shade)
Provide career development and encourages tenacity through competition and awards.
We are more than just a singular show, but part of many significant voices of today’s multicultural society.

Designed to educate, network, nurture career development and inspire attendees.
With so many subcultures within the British experience, mɛlənɪn Box Festival looks to bridge the gap, break down stereotypes and bring these experiences and subcultures to light.
Curated in 2014 by Multidisciplinary Artist Damilola 'DK' Fashola, developed by Initiative.dkf artists - Creative Producer: Wofai and Theatre Maker: Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu.
MBF welcomes younger generations into the rich heritage of the arts versus a world where they cannot relate to or see themselves in British theatre/film.
